The passing of Richard Scarbrough

A tribute and celebration of life details

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of an association past president and distinguished real estate broker whose impact on Tennessee’s real estate community spans decades.

Richard Scarbrough launched the first Century 21 franchise in the state of Tennessee, setting a new standard for professionalism and service. His leadership extended through years of dedicated involvement with the Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS®, where he served as president in 2004.

A committed public servant, he represented the Town of Farragut as vice-mayor and alderman for six years during the 1990s, and was honored as Farragut Businessman of the Year in 1997.

He also developed the Five-Star Award, a program designed to cultivate well-rounded, highly educated REALTORS®, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence within the profession.

He will be remembered for his vision, integrity, and lifelong service to his association, community and colleagues.
